I like this thought too, in context of recognizing the value of things.

“NICE” I totally agree. Tom Sawyer would not be the same if all the wording was changed. We do need to face the past and learn from it.

I’m glad Mr Robinson taught you such a neat lesson in 7th grade. Now it makes a great story to share. It applies perfectly. I guess that is the main reason why this will never be an acceptable practice. We are to multiply and replenish the earth and there is no way to do that if you put two of the same kind together. Or in your teachers words “in nature, two of the same kind of molecules don’t combine together to become anything else.”
