I was driving home today following a semi.\u00a0 Not just any semi, the back of this one had black and white diagonal stripes meeting in the middle, like those cautionary doors you seen on TV right before something bad happens.\u00a0 It also had the words ‘United States Air Force’ and an orange explosives sign.\u00a0 Comforting.\u00a0 It was also going incredibly slow, so I had to keep reminding myself not to tailgate the nuclear semi.\u00a0 *Funny side note is that I was coming from Walmart where I just purchased a toxic\u00a0green duffel bag, now named my ‘Secret of the Ooze’ bag.*\u00a0 Back on track, driving behind something that could potentially\u00a0incinerate the entire Box Elder area makes one evaluate his or her life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mine is rather strange.\u00a0 I never thought I would actually enjoy living in the middle of nowhere, but I think I’m really starting to like it, despite the lack of obvious things to do.\u00a0 Our previous residence in the incredibly metropolitan Denver area was filled with stuff.\u00a0 Places to eat.\u00a0 Places to shop.\u00a0 Places to see.\u00a0 There were movie theaters, mini golf places, museums,\u00a0a plethora of cultural events, and even a zoo.\u00a0 We lived primarily on going places.\u00a0\u00a0While snowed in for a few days,\u00a0I suddenly became bored.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A change of scenery always affects\u00a0people.\u00a0 I realized today just how much that is true with this particular change.\u00a0\u00a0We traded shopping malls for Kings.\u00a0 Our cultural events now mainly consist of Karaoke Revolution, Guitar Hero,\u00a0and Dance Dance Revolution\u00a0on our\u00a0Playstation.\u00a0 There\u00a0is also a slew of small town pageants this summer that we fully intend to hit.\u00a0 Who needs a zoo with all of the baby animals\u00a0around?\u00a0 And museums are replaced by run\u00a0down buildings left abandoned on various farms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s amazing\u00a0to me how much I actually enjoy staying at home\u00a0now.\u00a0\u00a0I still love to shop, and we have to get out once in a\u00a0while, which is\u00a0why it would be great to have more places to go here.\u00a0 But that’s okay because now we can entertain ourselves.\u00a0\u00a0We really worried\u00a0about how to entertain company, now\u00a0staying at home made us more\u00a0fun!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
