“For the\u00a0wisdom\u00a0of this\u00a0world\u00a0is\u00a0foolishness\u00a0with God.” (1 Corinthians 3:19<\/a>)<\/p>\n

The point of that couplet is probably well understood – that our greatest worldly knowledge and book-learning here on Earth don’t\u00a0amount to a hill of beans in the eyes of the Almighty.<\/p>\n

I looked up some\u00a0synonyms\u00a0for “foolishness” and “foolish” and found these\u00a0possibilities:\u00a0Stupidish, sillyness, idiocity, thoughtlessness,\u00a0unwise, imprudent, irrational.<\/p>\n

Long before Paul,\u00a0Isaiah said it this way (speaking for the Lord):<\/p>\n

“For my thoughts\u00a0are\u00a0not your thoughts, neither\u00a0are\u00a0your ways my ways, saith the\u00a0Lord.\u00a0For\u00a0as\u00a0the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8<\/a>)<\/p>\n

I don’t want to leave the wrong impression though. Though our efforts be\u00a0inadequate in His eyes, and our thoughts may not compare to His, God loveth His Children.\u00a0He understands perfectly what we are capable of, and wants us to try to obtain our very best.\u00a0In a comforting statement, He gives us what we need of the essential knowledge – that which will bring us Eternal joy in the world to come. “The Lord doth grant unto all nations, of their\u00a0own\u00a0nation and tongue, to teach his word, yea, in wisdom, all that he seeth fit that they should have; therefore we see that the Lord doth counsel in wisdom, according to that which is just and true. (The Book of Mormon, Alma 29:8<\/a>)<\/p>\n

He has love for us, His spirit children – especially abundant when we lives our life and do in mortality the things that will be eternally important for our soul. God’s only begotten Son told the rest of us, “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is thatloveth\u00a0me: and he that\u00a0loveth\u00a0me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” (John 14:21<\/a>)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
